Write On Rochester 2017: LCRW Anthology Contest

Who Can Enter:

 The contest is open to both published and unpublished writers 16 years of age or older on the closing date.
 Manuscript submissions must not already be under contract, previously published, or pending a firm publication offer at the time of entry deadline.
 Simultaneous submissions are permitted, but please let us know if your manuscript has been accepted elsewhere so we may withdraw your entry.
(Your entry fee will not be refunded.)

 Entries must be in English.
Submission Guidelines:
 Entries must be at least 500 words but no more than 2500 words. Titles are not included in the word count. All word counts will be checked at wordcounter.net.
 There is no limit to the number of entries you can make. However, the entry free is per submission.
There is no bulk fee.
 All submissions must be made electronically
 The manuscript must be anonymous and must not include your name, address, email, telephone
number or any other personal information. This information must be included on the entry form, not
the manuscript. Each manuscript must be transmitted separately, along with a completed entry
form, specific to that entry and the separate entry fee for that submission
 Genres accepted: General Fiction, Non-fiction, Memoir, Essay, Romance, Speculative Fiction
 No entries will be accepted for: Poetry, Pornography, Picture Books, Extreme Religion or Politics.
(We will make an effort to publish at least two stories from each of the accepted genres, however we do not make any promises.)
 The filename of your entry must be the same as your title.
 Please have your manuscript in “publication quality.” We will not accept corrections after we receive your manuscript.

Entry Fees*/Deadlines:
 Contest starts June 1, 2017 and submission cutoff is August 31, 2017 (midnight EDT)
 September 1, 2017 forward – no further manuscripts accepted.
 An entry fee of $7 (seven dollars) is required for each entry.
 The fee must be in US dollars
 Payment may be made by PayPal, check or money order. Fee must be under separate cover.
Electronic entry must indicate either check # or if PayPal was used. If a check was mailed, and was not received by 9/7/17, the entry will not be considered.

Manuscript Format:
 All entries must be at least 500 words but no more than 2500 words. Titles and any biography are not included in the word count. All word counts will be checked at wordcounter.net.
 Submissions must be double spaced, 12 point font (Times Roman, Arial or Courier), with one inch margins all around.
 The entrant’s name must not appear on the manuscript.
 Page headers must include the title on the upper left hand corner and page number on the upper right corner.
 Entries will only be accepted in the following formats: Microsoft Word Document (.doc or .docx),
Rich Text Format (.rtf), and Text Document (.txt).

Judging:
 The decisions of the judges are final
 Judging will be performed using the LCRW Score Sheets
 Judges will not know the author names. One LCRW member, who is not judging, will receive the entries, establish a spreadsheet to track the entries, assign a number to the entry, and distribute the entries to the judges. To ensure the anonymity, the judges will only know the story number and the genre.
 Two or more judges will be assigned to each entry. The entries will be scored separately by each judges. Inclusion in the Anthology will be determined by score and/or the executive panel.
 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners will have the first three places in the Anthology:

 1st place: $100.00 + Free LCRW membership + Electronic copy of the Anthology
 2nd place: $50.00 + Free LCRW membership + Electronic copy of the Anthology
 3rd place: Free LCRW membership + Electronic copy of the Anthology
